ABOUT SUE NEALE

Sue Neale is a contemporary Sunshine Coast artist living in the picturesque hinterland village of Montville, which is known as the ‘Creative Heart of the Sunshine Coast.’

As an artistic person, Sue’s creative expression has been a lifelong passion, one that has explored life drawing and painting, mirror mosaics, the making of Perspex boxes, and an ongoing passion for gardening, before adding feather art to her list of creative endeavours.

Her journey into this unique medium began in 2015, when she rediscovered some emu and plain turkey feathers stored in an old tin trunk. These feathers had been gifted by a feather collecting friend from Far North Queensland. It was this precious gift that inspired Sue’s passion in expressional feather art.

Impressed by their individual and intricate beauty, Sue began creating art that celebrates feathers in all of their colours and forms, emanating joy and expressing the vibrant spirit of her subject.

She has gone onto host several exhibitions throughout Queensland in spaces as unique as her art including, a Buderim coffee shop, three homes rearranged and turned into galleries, a lovely old building in Woolloongabba and a month-long exhibition in the Goondiwindi Art Gallery.

Sue also showcases her artwork on Instagram, which has already amassed a strong following. Through her passion for art, and high engagement with her followers, she is building a loyal community. It’s this community that sends her feathers from all around Australia.

Sue’s journey so far has been exciting and she is looking forward to creating more unique feather wall art for you to cherish and enjoy the beauty of these framed feathers in your own home.

HOW TO CARE FOR YOUR ARTWORK

Please note that Perspex is very fragile, so care should be taken when hanging or moving your artwork.

Caring for your feather art is important so that you can enjoy it for many decades to come!

Please only use a damp microfiber cloth, as the Perspex will mark if not treated kindly.

Make sure that you keep your artwork out of direct sunlight. This will ensure that the feathers remain vibrant.

HOW TO HANG YOUR ART PROPERLY

Once ready to hang your wall art it is as easy to hang as it sounds!

Attached to the back of the Perspex frame is a secure wire that can be hung straight onto your wall hooks.

Depending on the size of your feather art, either one or two wall hooks can be drilled into your wall. Simply hang the wire over the hooks and ‘voilà’ – your artwork’s ready to enjoy!
