Each December, a large bunch of magnificent Peacock tail feathers is delivered to me by Johnnie, a grazier from the Bell district – near the Bunya Mountains Queensland.
Hindu mythology associates peacocks with the god Lakshmi. The feathers thus represent his qualities: kindness, patience and good fortune. Whereas a circle may represent unity….
For tens of thousands of years, peacock feathers were used in every culture for healing. They are said to carry Spiritual Healing Energy that can be used to assist people seeking balance and harmony in their lives.
I’ve placed these feathers in a Perspex box, which I handmake. I use Perspex frames as it’s a fantastic way to preserve the feathers in a clean environment, it also displays the feathers beautifully. The Perspex frame comes ready to hang on your wall, so you don’t need to delay displaying your piece once it arrives.
